Planning Full Container Herb Shipments From Turkey
Full container herb shipments require planning across product selection, packing format, loading density and shipment timing. For Turkish herbs such as oregano, thyme, bay leaves and related botanicals, buyers usually get the best operational result when the commercial request is structured around a full container plan from the beginning.
The first decision is product mix. Some buyers need a single product container, while others combine several compatible herbs or spices. A mixed container can be useful, but the products should be commercially and physically compatible. Strong aroma products, fragile leaves and different packaging formats must be planned carefully.
Loading density is a key factor. Herbs and leafy products can be light compared with other food raw materials, so the limiting factor may be volume rather than weight. Cartons, bales and PP bags can each change how efficiently the container is used. This is why the requested packaging format should be discussed before a firm freight or loading estimate is given.
Quality specification should also be clear. Whole leaves, rubbed herbs, cut herbs and ground products have different handling and quality expectations. Buyers should define grade, form, moisture range, purity expectations and any market-specific limits that matter for their customer or processing line.
Documentation needs should be agreed early. Depending on the destination and product, buyers may ask for origin documents, phytosanitary documentation or analysis reports. Availability of specific documents must be verified before they are included in a final commercial commitment.
Timing is another important part of the plan. Harvest season, drying, cleaning, packing and freight availability can all affect shipment readiness. Buyers with target delivery windows should share them early so the supplier can check whether the loading schedule is realistic.
Due to loading density and operational constraints, FCL orders are usually easier to evaluate than LCL shipments in this category. When the buyer can provide product mix, total quantity, packaging preference, destination port and target timing, the supplier can prepare a more practical quotation and reduce the number of later revisions.
